After a serious collision, treat the battery as potentially damaged even when there is no visible fire. Follow the manufacturer's emergency guidance and have the vehicle assessed by appropriately trained personnel. Do not attempt to open, repair, puncture, or dismantle a high-voltage battery yourself.

Move people away from the vehicle and keep a safe distance. Do not attempt to fight a high-voltage battery fire yourself. Call the local emergency service and clearly tell responders that an electric vehicle is involved. Do not re-enter the vehicle or approach a damaged battery simply because flames or smoke have stopped.
